Spring 2007 REX HOTEL

Say goodbye to dismal kennels Vancouver! Canine accommodation takes its cue from the W rather than the vet’s with the opening of The Rex, the new luxurious dog hotel and spa in Vancouver, BC. Think minimalist luxury that will appeal to those with a modern design sensibility, with brick work, sleek custom-designed doggie furniture and dog art, plus friendly, attentive and experienced staff to welcome your furball. The hotel boasts play and lounge areas with modern dog-play equipment, as well as private suites should your dog want some solo time in the evening.

There is also a completely separate “small dogs only” area if you or your little dog is uncomfortable with her mixing and mingling with the bigger guests. The impressive outdoor play area features a custom-design canine waterpark with jets, sprays, water balls, and pooling water for lots of fun, as well as comfortable decking for lounging. Spa Services are on offer too, for those in need of a shampoo or some pampering.

Modern dog guardian Lien Tran checked in Babie, her Japanese chin-cross, for New Year’s Eve and reports that Babie and the other canine guests received royal treatment: they were even served Doggie Springs water in Lieu of bubbly at the stroke of midnight. Looks like service really has gone to the dogs!
